One thing that always annoyed me as a student was graph paper. You would buy a 5mm graph paper book, expecting for it to be accurate, only to find out that the grid was slightly off and so were your calculations. I have created this these graph paper PDF’s so you can print at home, ensuring you know exactly what grid size you are getting, and have more control over the pages you use.
Each of these graph paper templates come in both US Letter (8.5×11 inch) and A4 sizes so please be careful in downloading. As a general rule, US Letter is used in North America, and A4 in most printers around the rest of the world. Please however double check paper sizes before printing as sizes will be slightly off if you print using the wrong paper size.
Each grid size is presented in four distinct styles, ensuring you have the perfect layout for every task:
- Full-Page Grid: A classic, edge-to-edge grid covering the entire page—ideal for detailed sketches, math assignments, or engineering diagrams.
- Half Page Vertical: The grid occupies the vertical half of the page, leaving a convenient blank space on the right for notes, annotations, or illustrations.
- Half Page Horizontal: The grid sits on the top half of the page, with an open area below—perfect for labeling diagrams, writing summaries, or adding extra details.
- Ruled Margin: A full-page grid with a dedicated margin line on the left, giving you room for headings, side notes, or important references.
Each of these styles comes in six different graph sizes to match your specific requirements:
- 5mm
- 1/4 inch
- 10 squares per inch
- Centimeter
- 1/2 inch
- 1 inch

How To Download These Graph Paper PDF’s
Click on the image of the grid paper you wish to download. You will be taken to a PDF (in a new window) which you can print directly to your browser OR save to your computer for later use. Again, please make sure that you download the correct US Letter or A4 document depending on your printer and paper size.
IMPORTANT PRINTING NOTE: Make sure you select the correct paper size (US Letter or A4) before printing, and remember to disable any ‘Fit to Page’ option or set the ‘Scale’ to 100% so your grid prints at the exact intended dimensions. By Default, ‘Fit to page’ is set, meaning it will scale slightly down.
